Our cheerleading after-school clubs teach students the basics of cheerleading elements including; stunts, tumble, jumps and dance. The first term is skills-building and in subsequent terms, students work towards building a competitive routine that we hope to compete in a local competition, at Thornbury Leisure centre, called "South West Varsity" on the 17th May 2026 (estimated times: between 2-4pm). If anyone has any issues with this date please do let us know.

Venue: Elmlea Junior School dance studio- please pick up from outside the dance studio doors.
Day and times: Tuesdays 3.15-4.25pm

What to wear to practice: Most students wear school PE kit or shorts/leggings and a t-shirt to train in.

Your student will also need plain black trainers/ daps/ cheer trainers that are flat soled clean and worn indoors only to train in. You don't need to purchase these immediately but they will need a pair to compete in or if they are selected as a flyer. We don't have any specific brand requirements but the lighter the shoe the better. Most people grab a pair from Asda/Primark or similar.
